The Tech Pete Class at Slippery Rock!!

This semester we have all taken the tech pete class, and i think that this is a really good class for us to take as future teachers.  The class has a lot of work to do in it, but every project we did had good meaning to it.  I have learned things that i didn't even know existed as well as didn't know were in the schools.  I think this is one of those classes that if we didn't take it we would be behind in the teaching world due to our dependance on technology as a society.  We have learned things, and improved on our skills using certain programs, so that we can do interesting things in the classrooms.  Also the creation of our efolio is a great part of this class because that is something we can use and improve on through out our entire career.

The Aquatics Club at Slippery Rock!!

I'm not sure of how many people are aware of the new Aquatics club that we have here at Slippery Rock.  This is the first semester that the aquatics club is available for students to join.  They have many ideas of activities they wanna do as well as ideas of how to spread water safety tips.  They also have some good information about anyone interested in scuba diving.  Anyone can join this club, you do not have to be an aquatic minor, you just have to have some interest in swimming and water safety.  Slippery Rock is going to be the founding university when it comes to this club, so joining it would look very good in a portfolio.

Health Classes at Slippery Rock

I think the the Phys Ed department at Slippery Rock is the best program available.  The only complaint i have about it is the lack of health classes they offer.  As a Phys Ed major i feel that we get a lot of practice teaching activities and warm up skills but don't do a lot with health topics.  I think that the university should offer more classes where the students are responsible for making health lesson.  The more practice will be a great advantage as we move into upper level classes as well as student teaching and graduation.  The additions would only make the program that much better.

Slippery Rock Campus

At the end of last semester and the beginning of this semester the slippery rock campus has been a place for a lot of construction.  The sight of the construction happening all over campus was really annoying at first, but now I'm starting to change my mind.  With the addition of the new student union and the new Fluh dinning hall, i think that campus will be much nicer.  The minor effect of the construction going on now will be well worth it in the long run.  i feel that adding these places to our campus makes are campus that much better compared to other schools' campuses.  I am looking forward to these new places opening, and experiencing them myself.
